Morning Class 2024
4 – 6 years | 11am – 12:30pm
Term 1: Introducing
We build confidence and get to know eachother. Each lesson incorporates elements of creative drama such as mime, improvisation, storytelling with movement , dance and music.
Term 2: Stand up and Stand out!
We create our own play for an end of term performance.
Term 3: Young Performers Certificates
This year in September we hope to once again take part in the Trinity College Young Performers certificates. More info to follow!
Term 4: ‘Tis the Season’
Our end of year performance will have a festive ring to it.
Afternoon Class 2024
7 – 14 years | 1pm – 4pm
Term 1: ‘ Page to Stage’
Whole class production of an original play.
Term 2: ‘Poetry in Motion’
We look at different ways of performing poetry- through spoken word, movement and song.
Term 3: ‘Standout Shakespeare’/ Trinity College Group Performing Arts Exams
We’ll be working towards group perfoming arts exams with special focus on Shakespeare retellings.
Term 4: ‘Deck the Hall’
Whole class production with a festive theme.
In term 3 we take part in the Trinity Performance Arts Group Examinations. In past years the morning and afternoon classes have taken part in these- building confidence, achieving great results and having a ton of fun!
Trinity College London (TCL) is an Internationally recognised and accredited examination board- the visiting examiners visit our home in Lyall Bay on a Saturday afternoon during term time.
Registration is optional, although we love to see all students participate in this worthwhile event.
For the exam children present a short performance to the visiting examiner and are assessed as a group. An exam report and certificate will be issued to each child enrolled.
Entry in the exams is optional and fees are an extra cost:
Morning class- Young Performers Certificate – $40 per entry
Afternoon class- Performance Arts Group exams: Grades 2-4– $50 per entry
Standout Performances
Performances for family & friends are held in the hall towards the end of term during class time. The emphasis is always on fun and participation – a great way to build confidence in a relaxed environment with a supportive, enthusiastic audience!

Classes are held at: St Judes Hall, 68 Freyberg St, Lyall Bay, Wellington
What to Bring & What to Wear
Children will be using up a lot of energy so please bring a named drink bottle of water and a healthy snack. We have short breaks to re-fuel.
As we move around a lot: tracksuit pants, leggings or shorts are the best things to wear.
Dance shoes or ballet slippers are not compulsory but are recommended for dance. Otherwise, bare feet it is!
Standouts T-shirts are also available for optional purchase ($30) on Saturdays before class.
Term Fees 2024
(based on a 10 week term and adjusted accordingly for shorter terms)
Morning class: $157.50 (9 week term)
Afternoon class: $315.00 (9 week term)
An invoice will be sent at the start of term and fees are to be paid in full by week 3 of term. Failure to do so may result in the termination of tuition.
Standouts is happy to offer a 20% discount to families enrolling a second or subsequent sibling in the afternoon class. This discount is not applicable for the morning class.
Please note places in each class are limited and we advise to enroll early to avoid disappointment.
Enrolment is for one term and no refund will be given on the term fee for missed classes.
At the end of each term please let us know if your child/children will not be returning for the following term.
